The oath is not a constituent type of the successful completion of the studies, but it is a necessary condition for granting the title document of the diploma. The confirmation takes place, within the framework of the Assembly of the Department of History and Philosophy of Science of NKUA, at the Department, in the presence of the Director of the IPGS, the Chairperson of the Department, the Dean of the Faculty of Science of EKPA or his/her Deputy and, if possible, a representative of the Rector of NKUA.
A request for a confirmation ceremony for graduates in the Great Hall of Ceremonies of the central building of NKUA is examined on a case-by-case basis by the Rector, based on an assessment of the current possibilities and the number of participants, which will be declared by the Secretariat of the IPGS to the Directorate of Education and Research.
Graduate students, who have successfully completed the IPGS, in exceptional cases (studies, living or working abroad, health reasons etc.), can apply to the IPGS Secretariat for exemption from the obligation to participate in the confirmation ceremony. This exemption is approved by the Chairperson of the Department of History and Philosophy of Science and the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, International Relations, and Extroversion of NKUA.
